Hi Folks – In week six you were required to view and study the two instructional Video’s in the Week 7 Resource Page (Multiple Regression Conceptual and Multiple Regression Applied) and to ask questions on any part that you did not understand. You were also required to read chapter 8 in the Field text, and to ask questions on any parts that you did not understand; and you were required to read my sample summary and posts in the Statistics Week 6 Discussion Board, and to ask questions on any parts that you did not understand. As I have previously noted, the Week 7 material and assignment requires that you’re thoroughly familiar with this material.
This Week (7) your are required to View/Study the Two Videos in the Week 8 Resource Page (Multiple Regression Conceptual and Multiple Regression Applied), you are required to read Chapter 10 in the Field textbook, and your are required to read my notes, posts, sample summaries (there are two samples summaries, and the Baron & Kenny article, which I posted above in this discussion board). You must ask questions on any parts that you do not understand, and you must submit your questions to this discussion board before the weekend. If you send me a question (on these materials) via e-mail, I will email you back that you must post the question(s) in the discussion board.
This week you have two multiple regression analyses to run, one is a test of statistical mediation, and one is a test of statistical moderation. As noted in the week 7 discussion board: Complete Smart Alex’s Task #5 on p. 355 to complete the linear multiple regression analysis using the Child Aggression.sav dataset from the Field text. However, use only the variables Aggression (DV), and test to see if Sibling Aggression is a mediator of the relationship between Parenting Style and Aggression or whether Sibling Aggression is a moderator of the relationship. The analysis must be conducted using SPSS and Process as noted in the Field textbook.
Here’s what you must include in the summary.
1-Describe the purpose/goals of the analysis
2-Conduct the analysis for statistical moderation and summarize the results. Use my sample summary named Sample Summary for Statistical Moderation via Regression as a model for your summary.
3- Conduct the analysis for statistical mediation and summarize the results. Use my sample summary named Sample Analysis and Summary for Statistical Mediation as a model for your summary. Both of these summaries can be found in my Post (above) titled: Sample Summaries for Moderation and Mediation.
4) Explain which model (the moderator or the mediator model) best explains the relationships between the variables: Sibling Aggression, Parenting Style and Aggression.
5) Include the SPSS Output in a separate file.

This week, you have expanded on your knowledge of multiple regression to work with linear multiple regression. In this Application, you will perform a linear multiple regression analysis.
To prepare for this Application:
• Review Chapter 8 of the Field text for a description of the linear multiple regression and an example of conducting a linear multiple regression using PASW.
• Review Chapter 5 from the APA manual, “Displaying Results.”
• Review the media resources demonstrating the linear multiple regression.
The assignment:

Week 7 Statistics

This week (7) we will be using a software addition (Ad-In) to SPSS called Process.
The software needs to be downloaded from the internet, and installed on your PC. Field provides the web address and instructions on how to download and install Process on pages 393 and 394.
Please download and install this software before Monday. Post a note in this Statistics Week 7 Discussion Board indicating that you have successfully installed the software.
Please read chapter 10 in the Field text and ask question on any parts that you do not fully understand.
